EcoOffset Carbon offsetting has not always been the best means of reducing your carbon footprint for a number of reasons: It doesn't encourage reduction of energy usage. There are varying carbon offset figures produced depending on which of many formulas are used. It can be used simply to gain additional funding for a project that would go ahead anyway, so there is no real reduction. There have been some unscrupulous companies who have simply taken peoples money. That said, it has a useful place in reducing your carbon footprint, providing you have minimised your energy use first, and choose a regulated company.  As stated, there are many different caluclators to tell you how many trees you need to plant based on your emissions, so I have included a few links below as well as some companies that will offset carbon for you.
