About
Q: Where can I bank without my money being used to damage the environment?
A: There are a number of banks that will maintain ethical policies or will only use your money for environmentally friendly purposes.

Links:

The Co-operative Bank - maintains an ethical policy, principally to support human rights, charities and animal welfare; and not invest in companies involved in the arms trade, genetic modification or environmental damage.  Full details are available from http://www.goodwithmoney.co.uk.  They maintain a range of bank accounts for consumers, including their internet arm Smile, and businesses. Specific Co-operative Bank products are also detailed in some of the other links at the top of the page.

Smile
- is the Co-operative Bank's internet arm, and as part of the Co-operative group maintain the same ethical polices.  They provide a wide range of banking products.

Triodos bank is one of Europe's leading ethical banks and enables money to work for positive social, environmental and cultural change.  They offer business current accounts, but unfortunately not personal ones, although they do offer personal and business savings and investment accounts.
