Q: Are there any eco-friendly sites for kids?

A: There are sections of many sites aimed at children, as well as sites catering solely for children.

Nature Detectives - from the Woodland Trust. Dive into nature detectives, games and downloads for families, schools and groups

Supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund

Footprint Friends - Is an independent, environmental social networking site for 11-18 year olds. It launched in August 2007 to promote the voice of young people in the climate change conversation, raise greater environmental awareness and inspire positive social action and learning among youth groups around the world. Click the banner for more information and to sign-up.

EcoBeebies - is from the BBC and is about learning how to take care of our environment. In other words, it's about the little things that the little ones can do!

The next generation can help take care of the environment today. EcoBeebies is about children doing small things to help keep it clean and green, and learning about regeneration. This could be not dropping litter in the street or planting seeds to grow new plants and food.

On the EcoBeebies website there's a sticker chart for children to print off with ideas of things that they can do to help the environment. It could be turning off a light when they leave the room or it could be turning off the tap while brushing their teeth. Cut out, colour in and stick on a picture of what's been achieved today.
